50 for Hameed!

Earlier in the week Silly Point revealed that teenager Haseeb Hameed would debut for England in the first Test against India in Rajkot. (See previous post: Hameed to debut in Rajkot)

Well it hasn’t taken the nineteen-year-old long to make an impression. Having made 31 in his maiden Test innings the Lancastrian is currently 62 not out in England’s second innings having so far constructed an opening partnership worth 114 with captain Alastair Cook (46 not out).

Earlier in the day England dismissed the hosts for 488 (Rashid 4-114) and so now have a healthy lead of 163.
